Call for witnesses – Stolen Motor vehicles – Katherine

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after 2 stolen motor vehicles were used to ram 2 police vehicles in Katherine overnight.

Police were notified about 11pm that 2 stolen motor vehicles were being driven by youths in a reckless manner in various locations throughout Katherine.

Soon after, while stationary on Katherine Terrace, 2 police vehicles were rammed, causing significant damage.

No injuries were sustained by police or civilians and the offenders fled the scene in the second stolen motor vehicle.

Police have since recovered 2 stolen motor vehicles and have identified 5 potential offenders.

Superintendent Craig Garland said “The actions of these offenders could have led to the death of innocent bystanders. This type of behaviour is abhorrent and absolutely unacceptable.” 

"Police are requesting anyone who knows the whereabouts of a Toyota Dual Cab Landcruiser with registration NLC053 to make contact.
