The Administrator of the Northern Territory awards support our Police, Fire and Emergency Services and recognise that they are everyday Territorians who, without fuss or fanfare, contribute to the lives of others and make the Territory a safe, harmonious and peaceful place.
The awards recognise and celebrate individual police officers, firefighters, emergency service employee or volunteers and aboriginal liaison officers for the challenges, their selfless commitment and sacrifices to keep our people and community safe.
Nominations should demonstrate a contribution towards the professionalism, courage, local understanding, trust and respect, engagement and dedication to serve and protect our community.
The candidate/nominee must have been actively serving for the previous 1 year period. All nominations will be subject to a verification of employment process.
The seven medals categories are:
- The Administrator’s Medal for Police Officer of the Year
- The Administrator’s Medal for Police Auxiliary of the Year
- The Administrator’s Medal for Aboriginal Community Police Officer of the Year
- The Administrator’s Medal for Career Firefighter of the Year
- The Administrator’s Medal for Auxiliary or Volunteer Firefighter of the Year
- The Administrator’s Medal for Emergency Service Employee or Volunteer of the Year
- The Administrator’s Medal for Aboriginal Liaison Officer of the Year
