Northern Territory Police are investigating a traffic incident in which a 21-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle on the Stuart Highway early this morning.

At around 3:40am, police received a report involving a pedestrian, who had been struck whilst lying on the Stuart Highway, between Percy Court and Karnte Road.

St John Ambulance attended however, the woman was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene until police arrived. 

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Jeshua Kelly said, “The Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating.

“Police would like to speak with anyone who may have seen the pedestrian between Percy Court and Karnte Road prior to the crash, to contact them on 131 444.”
