Investigations are under way into a suspicious fire at Bagot Community last night.

NT Fire and Rescue and NT Police responded to reports of a house on fire in the community around 8pm.

On arrival, a bedroom in the house was fully ablaze. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire and established that there were no occupants inside at the time.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Budge said, “Neighbours had attempted to put the fire out with garden hoses, and a number of witnesses are assisting police with their investigations.”
