Update: Call for information – Fatal – Noonamah

Police

Northern Territory Police are appealing for information from the public to identify a witness to the fatal crash that occurred at Noonamah on Wednesday 22 June 2022.

The investigation into the circumstances of the crash that killed a motorcyclist who was travelling south on Stuart Highway remains ongoing.  CCTV footage from a nearby service station partially captured the incident and recorded a vehicle travelling a short distance behind the motorcycle.

The motorist appears to brake and swerve to avoid the damaged motorcycle on the road, within a few seconds of the crash occurring, and continued driving south.

Major Crash detectives seek help from the public to identify the driver of this dark-coloured vehicle who may be a witness to the crash.  It is not known why the driver failed to stop.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said, “If you are the driver of this vehicle, or know who is, please come forward to assist the investigation.

“Detectives will use this footage to cross-reference other CCTV and recording devices in nearby locations prior to the crash to identify this vehicle.”
