Arrest - Aggravated Unlawful Entry - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 30-year-old male following an Aggravated Unlawful Entry and Attempted Sexual Assault in Alice Springs this morning.

At around 3:30am, police were called by a resident who reported being woken up by a male lying on top of her. After a short struggle the woman screamed and the male fled the scene.

The occupant received minor injuries.

Superintendent Michael Schumacher said “A concerted effort by NT Police led to this male being taken into custody at around 2:00pm this afternoon.

“Crime Scene Examiners provided information to Task Force Viper, Alice Springs CIB and general duties members who worked together to locate the man and arrest him.

“The man is expected to be charged later today.”
