Northern Territory Police are investigating after a fatal hit and run in Timber Creek this morning.

At around 4:30am, police received reports that a man had been struck by a vehicle on the Victoria Highway, 30km West of Timber Creek.

A 19-year-old male was declared deceased at the scene with the offending vehicle and driver unknown.

There are currently diversions along the Victoria highway with Major Crash Investigating.

Detective Senior Sergeant Corey Borton said, “Major Crash are in the early stages of our investigation and we would urge the driver of the vehicle to make themselves known to police.

“The exact circumstances around what happened remain unknown and any motorists who were travelling in the area in the early hours of this morning are urged to contact police on 131 444.”
