A 15-year old male has died after being struck by a vehicle in Wulagi tonight.

Emergency services responded to a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian riding a scooter across Matthews Road at 7pm.

CPR was conducted but the 15-year-old died at the scene.

A 32-year old male contacted police a short time later and presented at Casuarina Police Station. He is assisting police with their enquiries.

Detectives from the Major Crash Unit are at the scene of the collision.

Matthews Road near Union Terrace is expected to be closed overnight.
