A man has died in a single vehicle crash which occurred earlier this afternoon.

Police received reports of a road train that rolled on the Stuart Highway south of Barrow Creek.

The Stuart Highway remains closed in both directions while emergency service crews attend to the scene.

NT WorkSafe have been notified. Investigations are continuing and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
