Northern Territory Police have arrested a 29-year-old man in Nhulunbuy on drug and firearm charges.
On 24 November the man was arrested after allegedly collecting two packages containing:
- 1.4 grams of lysergic acid
- 5 grams of amphetamine
- 1 gram of cocaine.
A warrant was executed on the man’s residence where, with the assistance of drug detection dogs, police located:
- 57 grams of cannabis
- 0.001 grams of lysergic acid
- two loaded rifles in an unsecured gun safe
- $9000 cash
- unsecured ammunition
- multiple prescription pills.
The man was charged with:
- 1 X possess schedule 1 dangerous drug - commercial quantity
- 1 X supply schedule 1 dangerous drug - commercial quantity
- 1 X possess schedule 1 dangerous drug - traffickable quantity
- 2 X possess schedule 1 dangerous drug
- 2 X supply schedule 1 dangerous drug - less than commercial quantity
- 1 X possess schedule 2 dangerous drug - traffickable quantity
- 1 X possess tainted property
- 1 X unauthorised possession of schedule 4 substance
- 1 X drive whilst disqualified
- 1 X possess firearm whilst unlicensed
- 1 X possess ammunition whilst unlicensed
- 2 X fail to meet storage requirements.
He was remanded custody to appear in the Darwin Local Court via video link from Nhulunbuy today.
