Strike Force Trident officers are investigating a series of ram raids which occurred overnight at the Hibiscus Tavern, Anula Shopping Centre and a business in Coconut Grove.
Police responded to a report of an alarm activation at Hibiscus Tavern around 3:50am this morning. CCTV vision identified two stolen vehicles, a white Toyota Landcruiser Troop Carrier and silver Toyota Corolla, driving around the location prior to the Landcruiser being used to ram the roller doors. Four persons, who had their faces covered and are believed to male, then stole a quantity of liquor from the location.
A business in Coconut Grove was the target of a ram raid at around 4:30am. The business sustained damage to the front doors however no access was gained.
A short time later, Anula Shopping Centre was also the subject of a ram raid by the same Landcruiser, with the building sustaining extensive damage. Three persons gained entry, stealing items including a $450 float from a cash till, multiple cartons of alcohol and mobile phones.
Both vehicles were located by Police soon after on Kalmynos Drive and a pursuit resulted with the Landcruiser. Police followed the Landcruiser to Palmerston however lost sight of it in Moulden. The Landcruiser was recovered a short time later in Palmerston and the Corolla was located burnt out in Coconut Grove.
