A 61-year-old man has been arrested after police found more than a hundred Cannabis plants growing in the back yard of a Tennant Creek property yesterday..

Tennant Creek General Duties officers, with assistance from the Tennant Creek Investigations Unit located 103 Cannabis plants of various sizes during a search warrant on a property on Tuesday afternoon.

It will be alleged 400grams of Cannabis plant material and 30grams of Cannabis seeds were located inside the residence.

The man was arrested and taken to the Tennant Creek Police Station where he was charged with one count each of;

  • Cultivate Cannabis – Commercial Quantity
  • Supply Schedule Two substance (Cannabis)
  • Possess Traffickable Quantity Scheduled Two Substance (Cannabis)
  • Possess Traffckable Quantity Schedule Two Substance (Cannabis seeds)

He has been remanded in custody to appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on Friday September 27, 2019.
