A 21-year-old man was arrested in Parap on 31 December by members of the Commander's Tactical Team as part of Operation RADO.
It is alleged the man struck out at a bus shelter with a long stick and threatened to attack a group of people sitting inside the shelter.
He was swiftly apprehended and conveyed to the Darwin Watch House where he was charged with disorderly behaviour in a public place and being armed with an offensive weapon.
The man was bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court on the 27th January 2009
