Members of the Commanders Tactical Team have arrested and charged a 17-year-old male youth in relation to an unlawful entry that occurred in Winnellie on 27 December.

At approximately 1:00 am Saturday morning it is alleged that a group of youths unlawfully entered a store on Benison Road by kicking in windows and doors causing approximately $2 500 worth of damage.

The offenders were disturbed by a passing security vehicle and fled the scene.

The 17-year-old youth was arrested yesterday and has since been charged with enter building with intent.

He was bailed to appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court on 20 January.
