Two people were arrested yesterday by Members of the Commander's Tactical Team in relation to a number of property crimes throughout the Palmerston area.
Around 3.00 pm on Monday 5 January a 22-year-old man was contacted by his bank reporting that his credit card had been unlawfully used at a shopping centre in Palmerston.
A short time later the man returned home to his property in Rosebery to find his residence had been broken into via a locked rear sliding door and personal items including clothing had been stolen.
Members conducted investigations locating two offenders, a male and female, both aged 22 at a residence in Bakewell.
After executing a search warrant most of the items were recovered along with another stolen bank card belonging to a 20-year old woman from Driver.
The duo were arrested and taken to the Darwin Watch House and charged with:
Unlawful enter a dwelling with intent - crime x 2
Stealing x 2
Criminal damage x 2
Criminal deception x 4
Forgery x 2
Receive stolen property x 2
Unlawful possess property x 2
The pair will appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court today.
