Police are investigating an incident in which two male bottle shop attendants were threatened with a baseball bat and a knife in Alice Springs last night.
Police received a report from the Gapview Hotel just after 9pm that a juvenile had been refused service because he was under age. The victims told police the youth returned a short while later armed with a baseball bat. He then threatened the pair with both the baseball bat and a knife.
The attendants, aged 29 and 21, managed to fend off the assailant who then fled before police were called.
The offender is described as being a 17-year-old male of Aboriginal appearance with short, brown, curly hair with blond tips. He was wearing an orange t-shirt and dark jeans and dark sneakers.
Investigations into the incident are continuing and police are appealing to anyone with information to phone 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
