Police arrested two alleged offenders at a residence in Gray yesterday in relation to an aggravated assault that occurred at a residence in Malak.
It is alleged on 12 October last year around 5.15 pm a 22-year-old female was home alone with her 18-month-old son when she was assaulted by a 32-year-old female who punched her in the head five times and a 32-year-old male hit her once with a wooden bar. Before leaving the residence the offenders stole the victim's wallet and mobile phone.
As a result of injuries suffered the victim was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment.
With the assistance of the public the alleged offenders were apprehended yesterday and conveyed to the Darwin Watch House and later charged with:
Aggravated robbery
Aggravated assault
Stealing
Unlawful entry - while armed with intent to commit crime
Possess controlled weapon
They were remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court today.
