Members of the Commander's Tactical Team have arrested and charged a 23-year-old male in relation to a drink driving incident.

Police were alerted to an intoxicated male sleeping in his vehicle in the Casuarina Square car park at approximately 10:00 Saturday night.

Upon arrival members located the 23-year-old asleep at the steering wheel of a Holden Barina, with the keys in the ignition.

Witnesses observed the man driving the vehicle just prior to police arriving.

He returned a positive result when given a road side breath test, however failed to supply a sufficient sample after being conveyed to the Darwin Watch House.

He was later charged with fail to provide breath for analysis and was bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court on 05 February.
