Police are investigating a fatal crash that ocurred at around 8:30 pm on Bagot Road between Bagot Reserve and McDonalds Ludmilla.
It is understood a woman was struck by a red Toyota Corolla sedan travelling in the outbound lane from Darwin City.
The sedan was being driven by a 21-year-old female and there were two other passengers in the vehicle.
St Johns Ambulance, police and night patrol members attended a short time later however the woman died at the scene.
Bagot Road was blocked in both directions from Nemarluk Drive to the McDonalds turn off as crash investigators examined the area.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being determined and the woman has not yet been formally identified.
No further details are available at this time. The Territory Road Toll now stands at two compared to zero for the same period last year.
