Northern Traffic Operations Unit is continuing their investigation into a fatal crash that occurred around 8.30 last night on Bagot Road, between Bagot Reserve and McDonalds Ludmilla.

Police have identified the victim - a 35-year-old Ludmilla woman. The woman's name will not be released.

It is understood the woman was struck by a red Toyota Corolla sedan travelling in the outbound lane from Darwin City.

The sedan was being driven by a 22-year-old female and there were two other passengers in the vehicle.

St John Ambulance, Police and Night Patrol members attended a short time later however the woman died at the scene.

It is not believed that alcohol or speed were a contributing factor and investigations are on-going.
