Police

Police apprehended three drink drivers between 10:30am yesterday and 4:40am this morning.

At approximately 10:30am police intercepted a 48-year-old male driving a white Tip Truck on Lee Point Road, Wagaman. The man returned a medium range blood alcohol content reading of 0.130 percent. He was also charged for driving an unregistered/uninsured vehicle, driving whilst disqualified, failing to transfer registration and possess label and plates calculated to deceive. Bailed and due to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court 3 March 2009.

A 26-year-old male was apprehended at 7:30pm on Westralia Street Stuart Park driving a yellow Ford utility. He returned a blood alcohol reading content of 0.187% and was further changed with driving whilst unlicensed and driving an unregistered/uninsured vehicle. Bailed and due to appear in Darwin Magistrates Court 3 March 2009.

Members also arrested an 18-year-old learner driver driving a Mitsubishi Magna on Smith Street in the city at about 4:40 am. He failed to display L plates, was driving without a licensed passenger and he returned a blood alcohol content reading of 0.066 percent. Summoned to appear in Darwin Magistrates court at a later date.
