At approximately 1.15 am Police and Fire Service members attended a vehicle fire at the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) on Malak Crescent, Malak. Upon arrival members observed two vehicles totally engulfed in flames. Personnel from neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution, due to the intensity and height of the flames. Two vehicles collectively valued at about $60 000 were totally destroyed and another parked in the compound sustained severe heat damage.

A crime scene has been established, and Police and Fire Service investigators will attend the scene today.

Police urge anyone who has information or saw any suspicious activity in the vicinity to contact police immediately on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
