Police have established a crime scene at a construction site in Farrell Crescent, Winnellie after a forklift was set on fire and a bulldozer stolen.
At about 7.00 am police received a report that a forklift was on fire and a bulldozer stolen from a construction site on Farrell Crescent. Fire and Rescue officers attended and extinguished the fire but the forklift was destroyed.
The stolen bulldozer destroyed an automotive inspection hoist and a large quantity of fencing and was then driven into the scrub and was located bogged near Tiger Brennan Drive.
Members of the Commander's Tactical Team and forensic personnel are at the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses and urge anyone who was in the area overnight and saw any suspicious activity or persons to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
