Police have arrested a 32-year-old woman in relation to two hotel laundry fires in Alice Springs in January this year.

Fire crews were called to a structure fire at Mt Nancy Hotel around 3am on January 1. They found the laundry was ablaze after it appears linen had been set alight.

Approximately an hour later police and fire crews were called to a fire at the Airport Hotel in Gap Road. They arrived to find that linen had again been set alight in the laundry.

Fire crews brought the fires under control and fire investigators later determined the fires had both been deliberately lit.

Detectives arrested the alleged offender yesterday at a local caravan park. She has been charged with two counts of unlawful entry and two counts of arson and will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
