At approximately 3.40 am this morning Police and Fire and Rescue personnel were called to a report of a vehicle fire on Lancewood Street in Roseberry.

On arrival police observed the vehicle parked on the side of the road in flames. Members commenced to extinguish the fire with a dry chemical extinguisher and a garden hose until Fire and Rescue Service personnel arrived.

A Toyota Corolla hatchback was totally destroyed as a result of the fire.

Police are treating the incident as suspicious and are seeking any witnesses.

Any one who may have any information that may assist police or sighted any persons acting suspiciously in the area over night are urged to call Police on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
