Missing Man - Daly River

An extensive search is underway for a missing male who was last see swimming across the Daly River early this morning near the Daly River community.

The 20-year-old man was swimming with another male when he went underwater and did not resurface. Police have been alerted to a possible crocodile sighting and are treating the incident as a possible crocodile attack

Police were alerted to the incident at 2:00 am this morning and commenced the search. The Territory Response Section has cordoned off that part of the river and is coordinating the search.

Members of the public are urged to avoid the area for safety reasons. Police also remind the public over the long weekend to exercise caution when choosing to swim in any of water in the top end.
