Casuarina Police apprehended a 14-year-old male this morning in relation to the theft of a vehicle over night.

Police attempted to apprehend the driver of a Toyota Camry travelling along Mahogany Street in Karama at about 12:30 am. The driver failed to comply with police direction and continued driving into a park where it became blocked in by wooden bollards.

Five youths fled the scene on foot; police took chase and one of the offenders was apprehended on Kapool Crescent in Karama.

Around the same time police received a report of a White Hiace van crashed into a fence on Livistona Road also in Karama. It is believed that the two youths who stole this vehicle were occupants of the Toyota Camry.

Both vehicles are believed to have been stolen over night. Investigations are continuing.
