Drink drivers overnight

Police apprehended three drink drivers between 5:00 pm yesterday and early this morning.

A 22-year-old male was apprehended at 5:45 pm yesterday after speeding past a police vehicle on Bagot Road Ludmilla.

It is alleged that he was travelling at 110 km's per hour in an 80 zone and when subjected to a breath analysis, returned a reading of 0.137 percent.

He was charged with drive medium range blood alcohol content and exceed speed limit.

At approximately 12:15 am a member of the public contacted police advising them that they had witnessed an intoxicated male leaving a licensed premises in the city.

Members attended the area and soon located a 48-year-old male driving a Toyota Hilux on Mitchell Street and returned a breath analysis reading of 0.133 percent.

He was charged with drive medium range blood alcohol content.

Police also arrested a 38-year-old female after she crashed her vehicle into copper log barriers on East Point Road.

She was charged with failing to supply breath for analysis, driving under the influence and driving without a license.

All offenders are to appear in court at a later date.

Territory Duty Superintendent Louise Jorgensen said that it was great to see a member of the public reporting a drink driver.

"I continue to urge anyone that witnesses possible drink drivers to contact police on 131 444 with as much information on the offending vehicle and driver as possible" she said.
