Members of the Commanders Tactical Team are investigating the theft of approximately $40 000 worth of tools from Wickham Point over the weekend.

It is believed that some time between 6:00 pm on Friday night and 6:00 am Saturday morning the offenders have cut and removed a padlock from a shipping container located in a temporary worksite compound outside the main Gas Plant.

Four specialised cable feeding machines were stolen which require power plants that were not removed from the premise and a variety of work tools were also taken.

Police are urging anyone that may have been in the area at the time of the incident or has further information that may assist police, to contact 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
