Arrest – Alice Springs

Police

Police have arrested a man for the unlawful use of explosives in Alice Springs.

The 21-year-old man was arrested by members of the General Crime Unit on Saturday night.

Police alleged the man was responsible for blowing up a large concrete water tank at the Tropic of Capricorn on Wednesday 8 April and various other offences.

He has been charged with:

Four counts of possession of dangerous goods
Two counts of conveyance of dangerous goods
Two counts of safe handling of dangerous goods
Two counts of criminal damage
Two counts of recklessly endanger life.


The man has been bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 26 May.
