Katherine police arrested a 29-year-old female in relation to a stabbing incident that occurred at Binjari community early Saturday morning.

It is alleged that the offender and victim had been drinking together earlier in the night at another location before re entering the Binjari community.

It appears the offender stabbed the 27-year-old male victim then herself after a brief verbal argument.

The man received stab wounds to his thigh and his head and both parties were taken to Katherine Hospital before the man was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment. He has since been released from hospital.

The offender was charged in relation to aggravated assault and was bailed to appear in Katherine Court at a later date.
