Vehicle Crash - Lajamanu

At about 8:00 pm last night Lajamanu Police were alerted by the Lajamanu clinic that there had been a single vehicle roll over on the Tanami access road about 35 kilometres from Lajamanu.

Five people were in the car at the time of the crash, three females aged 16, 23 and 26 -years-old and two males aged 25 and 26-years-old.

It is alleged the car was traveling back to Lajamanu from Balgo when the Toyota Landcruiser lost control and veered off the road before rolling once to come to rest on its wheels facing the opposite direction.

All passengers sustained minor injuries and were treated at Lajamanu Clinic, the 26-year-old male driver was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital as a precaution.

The driver has been charged in relation to drive with medium range blood alcohol content and drive a motor vehicle while disqualified offences. He will be summonsed to appear in Katherine Court at a later date.
