Police are seeking public assistance in relation to an unlawful entry to a house in Alice Springs at the weekend.

Police received reports just after 2 on Sunday morning of an unlawful entry in Kilgariff Crescent.

It appears two men allegedly approached the front door of a unit with weapons and demanded money from people inside.

One of the offenders assaulted a male occupant inside the unit knocking him unconscious while the other offender smashed a front window.

The offenders are described as being of Aboriginal appearance aged around 18-years-old.

Anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously between 1am and 2am on Sunday morning in the vicinity of Kilgariff Crescent is urged to contact police immediately on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
