Police have arrested two men for breaking into a business in Alice Springs overnight.

Members received a call from security just before 3am today that two men had broken into the Firkin and Hound on Hartley Street.

It appears the pair, aged 20 and 26, gained entry into the building and stole a quantity of alcohol and a small amount of cash.

Police arrested the men running from the premises after a short foot chase.

The men remain in custody while investigations continue. It is expected the men will be charged later today.
