Drugs seized – Darwin Airport

Members apprehended three people yesterday and located 349.56 grams of cannabis in separate searches conducted in the Darwin and Palmerston area.

At approximately 2:40 pm members from the Remote Community Drug Desk and the Customs and Border Protection Dog Operations Unit conducted screenings of passengers travelling out of Darwin.

The search revealed 50.1 grams of cannabis in luggage and the 44-year-old female offender was charged with possess cannabis - trafficable quantity and bailed to appear in the Alyangula Court 19 May.

Following up on leads, a short time later members conducted a vehicle search, locating 288.26 grams of cannabis.

A 46-year-old female was arrested and charged with possess cannabis - trafficable quantity, unlawfully supply cannabis to another and also for an outstanding warrant for summons disobeyed and was remanded to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court today.

Palmerston Investigation Unit members conducted a search on a residence in Bakewell around 4:00 pm, locating 11.3 grams of cannabis.

A 37-year-old male was arrested and charged with possess a dangerous drug - cannabis and administer dangerous drug to self and was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
