Arrest for Unlawful Entry – Tennant Creek

Police have arrested a teenager for an unlawful entry at a residential property in Tennant Creek last week.

Police received a report of an unlawful entry at a house in Casey Street just after 8am on Monday 11 May.

It appears the offender gained entry into the house sometime on the weekend and stolen more than $20,000 worth of property.

One of the stolen items worth approximately $10,000 was later recovered in Katherine by Tennant Creek Police today, however further investigations continue.

The 17-year-old male has been arrested and charged with one count of unlawful entry, two counts of stealing, one count of receiving stolen property and one count of trespassing enclose premises.

The male appeared in the Tennant Creek District Court today and has been remanded to appear in Alice Springs on Monday 25 May.

Investigations are continuing into a number of other offences committed relating to the male and further charges are expected to be laid.
