Police arrested a 25-year-old male yesterday in relation to a rock throwing incident that occurred at the Gardens.

It is alleged that a 36-year-old female was walking on Gilruth Avenue outside of Sky City Casino when she was approached by a male offender who then proceeded to throw rocks at her.

At approximately 5:00 pm patrolling members were waved down by the victim and after a short vehicle and foot pursuit, the male was apprehended heading towards Smith Street.

The victim received minor injuries to her hand and has since received treatment.

The offender was charged with assault and bailed to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court 9 June.
