Arrest - Unlawful entry and stealing

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in relation to a number of recent stealing and unlawful entry offences.

It is alleged the offender was involved in the following incidents.

On 10 April the offender and co offenders allegedly entered the Darwin Golf Club where an amount of alcohol was stolen and extensive damage caused.

Then on 17 April the offender with co offenders drove a stolen motor vehicle into the front glass doors of the Hidden Valley Tavern causing extensive damage, before entering the premises and stealing an amount of alcohol.

It is alleged he was also involved in a stealing incident on 10 May where a stolen motor vehicle was driven into a Jingili service station and filled up with fuel then driven off without paying.

The offender with a co offender is alleged to have then driven to Tracy Village Sports Club where a glass panel was smashed to gain access. Again an amount of alcohol was stolen from the premises.

The 19-year-old man was arrested yesterday at a Millner address and conveyed to Darwin Watch House, where he made partial admissions to the offences.

He has been charged with the following offences:

Unlawful use of a motor vehicle
Stealing
Enter a building with intent
Damage property

He was remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Magistrate's Court today.
