A 25-year-old woman has been taken to the Alice Springs Hospital suffering facial injuries after a domestic disturbance in an Aboriginal Community overnight.
Police received reports shortly after midnight of a domestic disturbance at the Amoonguna Community south east of Alice Springs.
It appears two women aged 22 and 25 had been drinking with two men aged 23 and 28 at a home in Amoonguna when a verbal dispute between the four turned violent.
The two men started punching and kicking the women to the head and then used a curtain pole to continue hit the women.
Both men have been arrested and will be charged with aggravated assault and other offences.
The 25-year-old woman was taken to the Alice Springs Hospital with a suspected broken jaw and the 22-year-old woman was treated for minor facial injuries at the scene.
