A 35-year-old male is to appear in court after he was charged in relation to domestic violence offences.

It is alleged that the male assaulted his 41-year-old female partner several times between 9 and 13 May.

He was located yesterday by Palmerston members at 15 Mile camp where he was placed under arrest. Upon being placed in the back of the police vehicle, the male proceeded to spit on one of the members.

He was conveyed to the Darwin Watch House and has since been charged with:

Aggravated assault (x3)
Breach of DVO (x2)
Assault member of the police force
Criminal damage.

He was later remanded in custody to re-appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court on 11 June.
