A man will appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on charges of possessing unlicenced firearms and drugs.

Members of the Alice Springs Police Drugs Intelligence Unit searched the man's residence in Elder Street and found four unlicenced and unregistered firearms and 150 grams of cannabis.

The man was taken to the Alice Springs Watch house and later arrested and charged with:

Possessing Firearm Unlicenced x 4
Possessing Firearms Unregistered x 4
Fail to meet Storage Requirements x 4
Possess Ammunition without licence
Possess Cannabis - Traffickable Quantity

The man has been bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court on Tuesday July 14.
