Police have arrested a 28-year-old male for drug related offences in Palmerston.

Members of the Drug Enforcement Section attended the Moulden area early yesterday afternoon and searched a green Volkswagen Golf that was travelling along Moulden Terrace.

Located as a result of the search was 4.9 grams of methamphetamine, 0.99 grams of cannabis, smoking implements/drug paraphernalia and two batons.

He was arrested and conveyed to Darwin Police Station and has since been charged with:

Possess methamphetamine - trafficable quantity
Possess a dangerous drug - cannabis
Possess thing to administer a dangerous drug (x2)
Possess/use/carry controlled weapon
Possess/use/carry prohibited weapon

He was remanded in custody and is to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court today.
