Just before midnight last night the Fire Service received a report of a gas leak in the vicinity of Hogs Breath Cafe on Mitchell Street.

NT Fire and Rescue responded to the leak and police attended and at the request of the fire services a 150 metre exclusion zone was established around the site of the leak.

It was determined that one of three large 200 kg gas bottles at the rear of the premises was leaking from a valve.

A number of licensed premises were evacuated and the area remained closed for about an hour and a half until the matter was resolved by the Fire Services.
