Casuarina Detectives travelled to Queensland today to apply to the Cairns Court for the extradition of a 37-year-old male.

The male is believed to have been involved in the armed robberies that occurred in Darwin last week and Queensland Police arrested the man in Cairns on Friday.

The extradition was granted and Detectives will escort the male back to Darwin on Thursday.

He is to appear in the Darwin Magistrate's Court Friday morning.
