Arrest for Aggravated Unlawful Entry – Alice Springs - 4335866

A teenager has been arrested and charged with aggravated unlawful entry and stealing after an incident in Alice Springs.

Members of the Property Crime Reduction Unit received a report just before 7am on Friday 17 July a 17-year-old youth unlawfully entered a house in Larapinta.

It appears the youth, who knows the victim, unlawfully entered the house and stole a quantity of cash, an Xbox and games and car keys before he was discovered by an occupant of the house and asked to leave.

The victim went to check on his car after the youth left, only to it had taken it and parked a few blocks up the road.

The victim drove the vehicle back and woke up Friday morning to find the car was stolen again.

Police located the offender and arrested and charged him with:

One count of aggravated unlawful entry, occupied dwelling at night
Three counts of stealing
Two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle
One count of trespass

The youth is set to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court this week.
