Casuarina detectives are investigating an armed robbery that took place at the Caltex Service Station in Karama this morning.

At about 7:00am this morning it is alleged the offender entered the service station, before threatening the console operator with a 20cm white handled filleting knife. The man then fled the scene with a quantity of cash and miscellaneous items from the shop.

The offender is described as being a Caucasian male, aged between 17 -19-years-old he was dressed in a black tee shirt and was wearing a black beanie and sunglasses, at the time of the robbery he was carrying a red draw string bag. The offender left the scene on a pushbike and was last seen travelling along Kalymnos Drive towards McMillans Road.

Police urge anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or could assist police with their investigation to contact 131 444 or Crime Stopper on 1800 333 000.
