Police would like to thank members of the public that attended the CBD for their general behaviour over the weekend.
In response to the Flo Rida concert that was held at Discovery on Saturday night, police mounted an operation to combat anti social behaviour in the area.
Police conducted numerous licenced premises checks through the operation as well as conducting high visibility patrols throughout pubs, clubs and eateries in the city.
Members from the Dog Operations Unit, Drug Enforcement Section and City Safe also performed random drug checks on patrons in pubs and clubs whilst Northern Traffic Operations personnel targeted road users.
As a result, seven people received Summary Infringement Notices for disorderly behaviour and three were taken into police custody.
The new Superintendent of the Darwin Operational Service Division, Jamie Chalker said that it was a great success.
"Overall I think the patrons and other members of the public enjoyed themselves whilst being well behaved.
"Our aim was to maintain high visibility at all times so that if a disturbance did occur we could respond quickly and appropriately.
"I would like to thank all police involved as well as the public, for a safe and enjoyable weekend. It is great to see the entertainment district being used for the purpose it was intended and with the build up towards the end of year parties, it is a trend we would like to see continue" he said.
