Three vehicle crash - 4372669

Police

Two men, aged 31 and 39, were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital this morning following a three vehicle crash at the intersection of Wishart and Tivendale Roads.

The crash occurred about 7.30 am involving a Mitsubishi Van, Landrover Discovery 4WD and a Mazda 121. Police, Fire and Rescue and St John Ambulance officers attended the scene.

It appears that the driver of the Mazda may have slowed down at the intersection and the Landrover 4WD ran into the back of it followed by the Mitsubishi van. Police diverted traffic around the scene for about two hours.

The 39-year-old male driver of the van was trapped and the roof had to be removed by Fire and Rescue officers to free him. He suffered injuries to his legs whilst the 31-year-old driver of the 4WD suffered minor injuries and both were conveyed by ambulance to hospital. The 33-year-old female driver of the Mazda and two children aged six years and five months escaped injury.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.
