Severe weather warning – Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs Police are urging residents to be prepared following a weather warning from the Bureau of Meteorology this morning.

Acting Superintendent David Chalker said residents and visitors needed to be aware and prepared following a severe weather warning issued by the Bureau of Meteorology this morning.

"Previously with such warnings, residents have not been prepared or not known how to prepare in such events.

'We ask people to secure loose items that can become dangerous in strong winds.

"It's also a reminder to motorists that such weather can cause poor visibility and be hazardous when driving, so motorists need to slow down."
