Police are urging motorists to drive with care after seven motor vehicle crashes occurred within a four hour period yesterday.

It is alleged that at about 3:10 pm a 55-year-old male crashed his Mitsubishi Canter Truck 3km's from the Stuart Highway on Townend Road in Acacia.

The truck left the road and travelled a short distance before crashing into a creek bed.

The Driver was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

At 4:40 pm a 23-year-old male lost control of the Yamaha motorcycle he was riding whilst travelling on Malak Crescent.

He fell from the vehicle and was conveyed to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

A 20-year-old male fell from his Honda scooter at approximately 5:00 pm after it is alleged that he drove into the back of a Toyota Camry that had stopped at the intersection of McMinn and Lindsay Street in Darwin.

The male was conveyed to Hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries and was later discharged and issued with a Traffic Infringement Notice for driving without due care.

A further four crashes occurred in Pinelands, Moil, Wagaman and Woodroofe with no injuries sustained to any of the vehicle occupants.

Territory Duty Superintendent Bruce Porter said that these drivers were very fortunate to escape serious injury.

"We are all very lucky that none of these crashes resulted in anyone being critically injured.

"Although there does not appear to be any environmental factors such as rain that may have contributed to the crashes, it is still a very timely reminder to all drivers to drive with care whilst on our roads.

"With the upcoming wet season and numerous road work projects occurring, I urge all road users to take extreme care and to drive to the conditions of the roads at all times" he said.

Investigations into the crashes are continuing.
